Harvest season is upon us! This is my absolute favorite time of year; a time when the air begins to get slightly cooler and when local crops are bountiful. There is nothing better than the rich flavors of farm fresh veggies in the Summer and early Fall. My husband and I are lucky enough to get a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share every year. When pick up day comes each week, we are like little kids – excited to see which veggies we will receive and brainstorming the types of recipes we want to experiment with.

What better way to honor this plentiful time of year than to gather your closest friends together to enjoy delicious fresh food and great conversation? Aspen event designer and coordinator, Virginia Edelson of Bluebird Productions did just that: “We designed this festive fete as inspiration for a fun friends dinner, a small rehearsal dinner or just a great way to celebrate the bounties of the summer season. Fresh flowers, beautiful place settings, delicious local food and yummy cocktails set the perfect tone to kick back and relax with your besties. We believe that every detail should be attended to and once in place, the real party begins with amazing conversation and everlasting memories.”

This strangely still pause between summer and autumn, greenery and gold, and the heat and rising wind that is once again readying itself to rush it all away in a climactic symphony of color and scent is – in my opinion, one of the best parts about living on earth. Author, Victoria Erickson

About Virginia

Virginia Edelson is the founder and principal of Bluebird Productions. She adores the outdoors and all that the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer. She moved to Aspen, Colorado after graduating from the University of Virginia in 2006. After two years of playing in the snow as a ski instructor, she worked at The Little Nell as a Catering Sales and Events Manager. While there, her passion for the event industry grew stronger by the day as she planned, detailed and coordinated social, corporate and wedding events from 5 to 500 people.

When Virginia is not planning events or promoting Aspen’s best vendors, she enjoys Aspen’s Bluebird days running, hiking, skiing, gardening, sampling Aspen’s finest local culinary delights and photographing the magnificent scenery.  Virginia loves to travel and explore the four corners of the world. Her father even nicknamed her “ticket” when she was younger to describe the elation that would hold if she had a ticket to go somewhere. Fortunately, her husband has taken over this role now and is her playmate on trips around the globe!

About Bluebird Productions

Based in Colorado, Bluebird Productions is an Aspen wedding planner that specializes in the highest quality personal service. We know that the details are everything- and we begin by designing an event that speaks to who you are and the magical moments you want to share with those you love. We then work with you to make certain that every piece of the plan- large and small- is done to perfection. Our events are exquisitely styled, carefully detailed and ultimately memorable. Our clear communication, personalized service and desire to have fun makes the process easy and enjoyable!

What is your entertaining philosophy?
We believe that every detail should be pre-planned, designed and attended to prior to an event and then it is time to let the event unfold. Attending to your guests, troubleshooting and making sure the pre-planned events occur as scheduled, are the only tasks that should take place once an event is underway.
Can you give us some of your pro design and entertaining tips?
Don’t spend too much time on pinterest. Look at your house and look back at memories to set the design stage.

Relax and enjoy your guests: a relaxed and cheerful hostess will be the best hostess with the happiest of guests.
