How can you possibly improve upon a home with access to a private beach, gorgeous views and yet is only 5 km from downtown? You call in the experts.
The owner of this incredible condo in Port Melbourne looked to Catalysto Property Services when he decided to sell the apartment after owning it for 5 years, but never actually living in it. He requested “some basic maintenance works and furniture installation”.
The result was far from “basic”. Catalysto’s vision was “to create a space that is at once aspirational, yet liveable. The look had to be high-end, fitting for a property of this standard, yet we wanted to retain a light and airy feeling that seamlessly blended with the home’s location.”
The Catalysto team started with a white backdrop, then highlighted it with punches of color and strong graphic textiles to create a calm, modern and engaging space.
“The overall aesthetic was focused on keeping things clean and contemporary and most importantly, ensuring we didn’t detract from the home’s key selling point – the incredible views.”
“We mixed ‘high’ and ‘low’ pieces to create this relaxed vibe. In the living room, a vintage persian rug and marble coffee table were paired back with an Ikea sofa and an art piece by contemporary Australian artist Michael Muir.”
The bold rug helps delineate the dining space and mimics the window framing, drawing the eye toward the breathtaking view.
In the den, warmer colors and softer artwork create a tranquil retreat.
“In the master bedroom, bold graphic-print linen was used to create a distinctly modern feel, without detracting from the stunning vista. A picture shelf above the bed was an informal way to bring art into this room.”
Catalysto certainly proved up to the task of staging this home, balancing the breathtaking views with beautiful interiors.
