This just might be the sweetest way we’ve ever seen a bride ask her best girlfriends to be in her wedding! Angela Margolis and Erin Sprinkel of Sterling Social orchestrated the perfect boho-chic ladies picnic in Orange County’s O’Neill Regional Park. The gorgeous floral centerpieces designed by JL Designs and the loveliest personalized place settings made by Pitbulls and Posies make us wish we could pull up a pillow and join in the festivities.

Erin and Angela give us all the details, “A twist on the casual afternoon picnic, the Bride invited eight of her closest friends to the park with the intention of intimately asking them to be a part of her wedding. Set beneath a large shaded tree, a residential oasis of tufted furnishings, quilted blankets, floor pillows and ottomans in vibrant colors and mixed prints, created a cozy environment for lunch. A low distressed wood dining table was sweetly set with petite collections of floral and eclectic accents. “

“Each personalized place setting was adorned with botanical-inspired china, blush glassware, gold flatware, and place card names made of laser-cut wood. ”

Guests love when thought has been put into their attendance.  Even with a small gathering, include personalized seating at the dining table. This doesn’t have to be traditional place cards, so have fun with writing guest’s names on decorative objects, glassware or even edible pieces.” – Erin Sprinkel & Angela Margolis

“As the girls spent the afternoon eating mini desserts and toasting with pink champagne, the sentimental moments began to unfold. Charming hand-made wooden boxes were presented to each girl with the words ‘I Choose You’ inscribed on the outside. Filled with meaningful mementos and whimsical bridesmaid dress swatches, each bridesmaid-to-be was given a heartfelt note from the bride asking them to stand by her side on the wedding day.”

“In celebration, the girls set off on a playful adventure throughout the park riding vintage Schwinn’s, carrying oversized balloons with tassels, and dancing in the rain that showered them in the late afternoon.”

Bio:

Event experts and co-founders, Angela Margolis and Erin Sprinkel, launched Sterling Social in 2010 and will be celebrating six years of business later this year.

Prior to starting our company, we both had a vast background producing events for high-profile luxury brands and lifestyle publications. At Sterling Social we specialize in full-service event production and design consulting. You’ll find us producing anything – from a red carpet entertainment event to an elegant wedding or intimate dinner party. Working with a range of clients and design aesthetics, we are constantly inspired and challenged to create new, one-of-a-kind experiences. Embracing our love for travel, events continue to take us to inspiring destinations beyond Southern California.

What is your entertaining philosophy?
The most important moments in life should be celebrated! Bringing a vision to life through stylish details ensures every event we create is an experience. For us, entertaining is a lifestyle in itself!
What are some important design & entertaining tips you can share with us?
It’s all about taking one foundational concept and carrying it consistently through all the details. From the design of invitations to the tabletop decor, pick a color palette and style direction to carry throughout and make an impact. Tying together these details will not go unnoticed!

Make it personal! Guests love when thought has been put into their attendance. Even with a small gathering, include personalized seating at the dining table. This doesn’t have to be traditional place cards, so have fun with writing guest’s names on decorative objects, glassware or even edible pieces.

Have fun with seating! Being outdoors allows you to mix it up with anything from distressed wood tables without linens or even a picnic-style experience with blankets and pillows.

Make the bar experience interactive! Give clever names to any signature drinks you are serving or have a mixologist attend as an activity for guests to enjoy.

Create a memorable environment. Not every guest will appreciate the small design details, but they will always remember how they felt listening to good music, eating great food and lounging in a comfortable setting.
