Valentine’s Day is upon us and we thought what better way to get you in the spirit than with this fun “Love, Bites, & Blooms” gathering held by Carla Measer-Costamagna of Costamagna Design! From the lovely flower bar with gorgeous creations by Carla, to the delicious bites from caterer Private Knives and the heart balloon photo booth – you are in for a real treat (pun intended)!

Photographer Jenn Ayres of Ayres Photography who beautifully captured the day, gives us all the details: “We participated in an amazing Pop Up Shop experience called ‘Love, Bites, & Blooms’. It was such a fun and beautiful event, all coordinated by the lovely Carla Measer-Costamagna of Costamagna Design. Carla is an incredible event planner/floral designer and this great event really showed off her skills (Fun fact about Carla: she was Vanessa Williams’s planner for her incredible Buffalo, New York wedding)! Every ounce of this Pop Up Shop was perfection – from the handmade cards, to the unbelievable bouquets, to the adorable ‘photo booth’ that captured the love of each couple that passed through. You will be drooling over the mini cotton candy wands, stunning cupcakes, and individually jarred crème brûlées! We certainly were!”

Bio:

Carla Measer-Costamagna has been devoted to making things beautiful since she was a little girl. Growing up in Europe and South America, she has experienced a broad and diverse array of cultures, traditions, tastes, sounds, and colorful lifestyles. Always with a love for the arts, she pursued a career in Interior Design in Lima, Peru and later in Art Critics and Didactics at the historic Brera Art Academy in Milan.

Carla always looked for innovative ways to entertain, using her creativity to place unusual elements in her designs and acquiring a vast collection of vases, plates, glasses and decorations that she could utilize in various house dinners and parties. Prior to starting Costamana Design, Carla worked in New York City for 5 years in event planning and design. In 2006 Carla won the ISES (International Special Events Society) “Vision of the Future” award. Then, in 2007 Carla moved to San Francisco and worked as designer for renowned event designer Robert Fountain for 2 years. This is where she had the chance learn even more, dive deep into her passion and help create esthetically beautiful settings for such noteworthy events as the San Francisco Ballet Opening, San Francisco Symphony Opening, and many upscale weddings and social gatherings including a 5-day wedding on a private island in the Bahamas. These experiences combined with her world travel and her passion for entertaining has made Carla who she is now, a designer capable of understanding and adapting to her clients’ view, getting into their minds and transforming their wishes into reality.

Be it a small gathering in a private home, or a lavish affair, whether in a romantic garden or in a minimalist loft, Carla’s specialty is attention to detail and an artistic approach to creating experiences for her clients that will appeal to all the senses.

Carla recently moved back to the East Coast and fis opening her floral and event design studio in the beautiful town of East Aurora. The perfect background to pursue her events and design career. You’ll probably find her any given day hunting for the perfect flea market bud vase, or at an outdoor cafe with a glass of red wine and the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine.
