If you grew up south of the Mason-Dixon line (where gracious hospitality is a hallmark) and find yourself transplanted to the one of the busiest cities in the world, how do you adjust? For this young family with three children, part of the answer is to ensure that your home represents your charming roots.
Designer Liliane Hart of Liliane Hart Interiors was the perfect partner to help these clients fuse classic southern and contemporary New York aesthetics.
“The wife is originally from the South, works in fashion, and loves to entertain”, says Liliane.
“She asked that we incorporate some of her most favorite, sentimental pieces from her family into the design of her apartment. She loves antiques, bright colors and requested several seating areas for entertaining.
“We used clear jewel-toned colors throughout the apartment juxtaposed with neutral yet textural fabrics as their backdrop, and soft-colored sheers. We also mixed her antiques with contemporary art and jute rugs to keep the apartment looking fresh and youthful.”
Multiple seating areas with soft, deep-cushioned furniture invite guests to sink in, relax and enjoy each other.
A round dining table is the perfect choice to encourage free-flowing conversation and lingering over a great meal.
“We were inspired by the jewel-toned portrait our client had commissioned of her children.”
“The success of every space we design is built on quality craftsmanship and close attention to detail.”
“Through the layering of color, texture, and custom furnishings we create interiors that are both classically gracious and delightfully fresh.”
Pops of color and leopard print give this classic banquette a fresh, pretty update.
Responding to our clients’ unique homes and needs and histories, we find great joy in creating beautiful, deeply personal spaces for each of them. Liliane Hart
