After building their home from the ground up, this San Francisco family of four decided to enlist design expert Sayre Ziskin of SVZ Interior Design to help decorate and create a comfortable yet refined space. Since Sayre was working with blank spaces, a modern backdrop, and was on the same page creatively with her clients, she had the freedom to play with different forms, textures and colors. And incredible art sourced by procurer Jesslyn George of Toyon Arts beautifully rounded out the overall design.

The outcome? A welcoming and sophisticated family home featuring modern furnishings, cheery colors and eclectic decor.

The kitchen is sleek and modern featuring Carrara marble countertops and backsplash and porcelain pendant lights by Ryan Mennealy. This neutral space provides a nice contrast to the colorful living and dining room decor.

Meet the designer Sayre Victoria Ziskin of SVZ Interior Design
Bio:

SVZ Interior Design has been up and running since 2012 and was founded by LA native Sayre Victoria Ziskin. During the last 6 years the boutique firm has established a following in San Francisco and recently opened a second office there. The firm has a wide array of projects from large-scale offices to trendy cocktail bars to high-end homes.

Sayre Victoria Ziskin has a background in fine arts and commercial advertising. She studied literature in London, received her BA at UC Santa Barbara and honed her artistic and intrinsic interior design skills at UCLA. She refined her ability by working for a high-end residential designer in LA before starting her own firm in 2010. As Principal designer, Sayre not only places importance on the aesthetic outcome of each project, she always put her clients’ needs first and foremost.

Sayre’s design sensibility reconciles eclectic, bohemian details and patterns with clean, modern lines. While no two SVZ designs are precisely the same, each project is tethered together by Sayre’s signature ability to infuse classic design with unexpected subtleties and creative solutions for every project.

What is your Modern Sanctuary? What space brings you peace, comfort and joy?
Sayre's modern sanctuary is without hesitation, her home. Travel is important for inspiration, but for Sayre her journey starts with a place to call home.
