After building their home from the ground up, this San Francisco family of four decided to enlist design expert Sayre Ziskin of SVZ Interior Design to help decorate and create a comfortable yet refined space. Since Sayre was working with blank spaces, a modern backdrop, and was on the same page creatively with her clients, she had the freedom to play with different forms, textures and colors. And incredible art sourced by procurer Jesslyn George of Toyon Arts beautifully rounded out the overall design.
The outcome? A welcoming and sophisticated family home featuring modern furnishings, cheery colors and eclectic decor.
A bright blue rug and yellow velvet couch pop in the living room.
Art piece above fireplace by Don Suggs
Statement art by Francisco Vidal in the dining area perfectly carries out the color scheme from the open living space.
Bar stools from Hollis Morris
The kitchen is sleek and modern featuring Carrara marble countertops and backsplash and porcelain pendant lights by Ryan Mennealy. This neutral space provides a nice contrast to the colorful living and dining room decor.
The owners’ bedroom is a serene oasis displaying photography by Liza Ryan.
The media room is not only a great space for watching movies, but also for taking in the gorgeous views of the San Francisco Bay.
The whimsical animal wallpaper makes an adorable statement in the nursery.
A fun mix of colors, patterns and artwork shine in the playroom making it a bright and cheerful space for the kids.
My design philosophy is simple: be organized, meticulous and creative. Sayre Ziskin
Sayre’s clever design approach made for a beautiful, happy home for this young family to plant their roots.
